Miriam DePriest I was born and educated in England and
moved to the United States in 1960.
I lived first in San Diego, California and later
moved to a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, before moving to the
Atlanta area in 1979.
I have two daughters and six grandchildren.
One daughter recently returned to the United States
after living in the Middle East for several years where her
husband was on assignment.
I now have all my family living within a few miles of
each other, which makes for great family get-togethers. I worked for 22 years for an international
agricultural chemical company. I started in their Chicago
office and later moved to their London office.
I continued to work for the company when I moved to
Atlanta and until my retirement in 2001, held the position
of Customer Service Supervisor with responsibilities for
customers from Canada to South America.
Since retiring, I have enjoyed the opportunity to
travel extensively internationally.
To date, my trips have included China, Thailand,
Cambodia, South Africa, Central and South America and many
countries in Europe.
This year, I added a trip to India to the list.
My “bucket list” at this stage includes trips to both
Australia and New Zealand. My introduction to the Roswell Adult
Learning Center began in 2009 when I took a Photoshop
Elements class with Emory Reese.
I have since taken
additional classes and also volunteer as coach as my
schedule permits.
Effective January, 2012, I have accepted the position
of Secretary to the Roswell ALC.
Congratulations Miriam on your contributions!
